If you’re like me, then doing more writing is likely on your list for 2017.
Besides a reliable notebook, one thing every writer needs is a clean, well-lighted place to work, preferably with wifi.
Fortunately, around Hollywood there is no shortage of great cafes to hole up in. Whether its the counter-culture cool vibe of Bourgeois Pig, or the seriously good food and friendly atmosphere of Stamp Proper Foods, screenwriters, novelists, and mad poets can find a cozy corner to get down to business pretty much anywhere.
As good as they are, few of these places attract the attention of the New York Times . And none provide the unbeatable ambience of sitting beneath the cedars in Griffith Park.
The Trails Cafe in Griffith Park is one of the better kept secrets of Los Feliz. Located just off the Fern Dell entrance, The Trails Cafe offers a fun, inventive menu all created in a homemade rustic style.
Local favorites include Eggs in a Basket, the Snakedog (all beef frank wrapped in a puff pastry), and of course, Avocado Toast. Co-owner and pastry chef Jenny Park also whips up some of the best pies and pastries you’re likely to find anywhere.
Add in the Stumptown coffee and robust wi-fi and you get a combination that’s tough to beat.
The Trails Cafe is also a delightful meeting place for cyclists and hikers. Feel free to bring your dogs and kids (rumored to be a Pokemon hunting ground) to romp around the camp site-like space.
